Sweet Fancies
Well, it's Monday. And I'm glad. I had a huge weekend of baking for Cupcake Day for the RSCPA, and I am pleased to head back to my desk and day job (don't quote me on that though, boss!)
I have baked and baked, and sent my cupcakes all across Brisbane to be sold by my lovely friends who want to help the puddytats and puppy dogs at RSPCAs across QLD. I recently visited the Fairfield RSPCA shelter to donate some blankets and petfood, and my, oh my, how did I not take home a furry baby that day? The staff are so very dedicated, and the animals really are loved and cared for.
Hopefully Brisbane's office workers are hungry today, and even more hopefully, they are generous!

On another sweet note, I have been inspired by local artist extraordinaire, the gorgeous Ms Natalie Perkins. She has a regular Friday Fancies post in her witty little blog, Definatalie, and I am contemplating the same. Those who know me well will realise however, that on Fridays, my mind is certainly not on work, or blogging, or anything remotely other than a glass of wine and a good night's sleep. I will endeavour to provide sweetness and light on a weekly basis, but no promises on the regular Friday thing, ok peeps?
For my first weekly Fancy-schmancy, I want to share with you all a wonderful Australian blogger. It is so hard, ok it's damn near impossible to find gorgeous, sweet, gentle, pretty Australian design and style blogs. Don't get me wrong, I love Ez of Creature Comforts, and just about everyone knows how much Pioneer Woman gets me going. Love you Ree! But being North American blogs, they are so seasonal. And when they are planning their parties and posting pictures of their latest homewares purchases, I'm thinking 'But it's Winter in Brisbane right now, how can I have a pool party?' Also, they buy too much stuff from Anthropologie. And it's just not fair. Anthro doesn't even ship to Australia.
I am so very pleased, so chuffed, so ecstatic, to have found the incomparable talents and generosity of Amy Moss of Eat. Drink. Chic. She's a sassy Melbournite, a photographer, photostylist, collector, researcher, event designer, writer and graphic designer, who creates beautifully and gives selflessly.
Amongst her many talents, Amy creates gorgeous printables and posts them on her site to download, for free! This one is my latest love. DIY Persian Cotton Candy Wedding or Party Favours. How very very. And so adaptable to any get-together! Imagine at your next soiree, a little table of these pastel lovelies. Swoon.

I am off to find some pashmak (that's Persian Cotton Candy for you nonces out there) and translucent envelopes, and also to persuade my housemates to throw a party!

I saw some fabulous persian cotton candy at the James Street Markets!!! They had some out for taste testing and I couldn't resist... Oh my.... Talk about dying and going to sweet sweet heaven! I have never had anything like it in my life - this is not your run of the mill fairy floss people. This is like the primo caviar of fish eggs.
