Ahhhh....

Well, we're home. Relaxing. Waiting on some Indian takeaway to be delivered. And unable to move from the couch.

BB and I have just returned from 10 days away from home. Tricky stuff for me. I like home. But it was great to spread the wings a little. The bulk of our away-ness (totally a word, I just checked) was spent camping at Inskip Point, around three hours north of Brisbane, located in the gorgeous Great Sandy Strait National Park.

It was, in a word, relaxing. Not a lot of anything, and a whole bunch of nothing. Sitting on the beach watching the southern shores of Fraser Island and the water, sitting by our caravan watching the world go by. So relaxing. I've never camped there before, and was slightly anxious about the isolation (from friends, family, internet, phone reception etc), but I found it blissful to just sit and relax. BB relaxed too, which helps me relax a zillion times better. Our campsite was fantastic. Close enough to the facilities (you know what I mean, ladies) to be comfortable on middle-of-the-night-walks, far enough away not to be able to smell a thing. Less than twenty metres to the beach, and a regular ice and firewood delivery truck swinging past. I'd go there again. And for someone like me, that's high praise.

We managed a day trip to Fraser while we were away too, as our campsite was quite close to the barge landing point. Didn't get to see much of Fraser, as trips really need to be planned around tide times, but I saw enough to know I'm ready for a 5 Star holiday there, complete with trips to Lake MacKenzie and the northern tip. (Anyone know how I can wrangle a blogging holiday to Kingfisher Bay Resort? Hello? Puh-lease?)

I discovered during this holiday that cleanliness is not all it's made out to be. These are my feet. Seriously. Not a hobbit's feet. Mine. (You may shudder now.)

So, I'm home, and dry, and about to head back into the bathroom. I think I need a few more neck-deep bubble baths (with complimentary glass of champers, obviously) to really clean up. I may or may not return. I might just call out for the Butter Chicken and Naan Bread when I'm ready. So keep an ear out for the doorbell, thanks.
