Feeling Thankful Friday - the beginning
** Attention heterosexual men who read my blog** Today's post was not written for you. You are not my target market. Feel free to go check out the latest specials at BCF and Bunnings. I've even included the links so you don't even need to google them. You're welcome.
To all other readers... I have decided to actually to commit to a regular themed blog post on Fridays. I've been considering this for a while, and tossing up my options. I could do a Fashion Friday (boring, I only wear daggy semi-casual work clothes on Fridays and that doesn't stimulate me), or perhaps a Funny Friday. Yawn.
But, in a fit of surprising gratitude. I have decided that every Friday blog post will be a Feeling Thankful Friday blog post. My inspiration for this comes from the most obvious of places. George Clooney. Yup! Georgie-baby gave me this bright idea. Every Friday I will post about something that I appreciate, that makes me feel happy, that gives me a smile, or that I am thankful for. And hopefully they make you smile too.
I stayed at a friend's house last night, and was going to have to catch the early (very early, 6:15am!) train to work this morning. I was standing at the station, feeling a little sooky and a lot less groomed than I would like (I do not like not having my hairdryer with me in the mornings), and all of a sudden, the sun broke through the clouds, golden rays spiralling outward, lighting up the heavenly face of George Clooney on a Nespresso ad on the wall. You know, the ones with George's passport photo? Where his dimples and the cup of Nespresso in his hand are the centre of attention? Oh sigh. Swoon.
That made me smile.
Then I got on the train, and took a seat, and looked up, and saw this. This glorious print ad. If this isn't a sign to be thankful for catching the train to work very early on a chilly Friday morning, I don't know what is.

To that wonderful purveyor of home and office coffee machines Nespresso, I say thank you. I am feeling very thankful this Friday that you have decided that the South East QLD rail network needed a stack of Clooney commercials. Excellent work.
Have a great Friday everyone!
PS I'd like to invite everyone in advance to my wedding to The Clooney. We will be holding it at this fabulous Frank Lloyd Wright home by the pool, and cocktail attire would be appreciated. George will be wearing a tux, sans tie of course. And I will be wearing a Very Thankful Friday smile.

Oh Katy, I too adore the George! I'll definitely attend the wedding, you might have to put up with a little bit of complaining as you say I do, though!

What a lovely idea for a Friday blog! Especially early in the mornings ad it's sometimes hard to get through a long busy day!
If I get inspired, I'd love to be grateful every Friday and blog about it!

I bought the machine just because I thought he came with it! Imagine... "honey, would you like your money coffee now?" "I'm ready" would be the reply... not necessarily for the coffee though...

I love me some George, I haven't seen any of those posters yet, but I might catch a train this afternoon just to see them! Thanks Katy, great blog post as always and you sure put a smile on my face!
