Delightful Darwin

I had a bit of a talk with DD last night, and apparently I'm too pushy, asking for the Darwin photos within 24 hours of returning from my holiday! I've spoken to a few friends regarding this, and they think he's off his head. One even said that he should have emailed them to me before my plane even touched down in rainy Brisbane, haha!

Well, they are here now, and here are a just a couple of my delightful long weekend in Darwin. Even though I absolutely LOVED our trip to Mt Buller, this holiday has shot to the top of my favourites, mainly because I'm a little sun-bunny! I much preferred walking around the steamy and gorgeous tropical gardens with DD (poor boy doesn't handle the heat as well as I do), to shivering and trudging through ankle-deep snow. It's just how I am. Ah well, there's a chance for a Winter and Summer holiday every single year, so I'm sure we'll both be happy enough.

There are so many more special memories, and so many moments that I wish I'd had my camera out for! (The late-night airport pick-up with a sweet boy holding a sweet sign up for me was definitely a highlight!)

If you've never been to the Northern Territory, and you can handle the heat, then definitely make the effort. The city of Darwin is delightfully small, perfect for a stroll; and the drive out to Litchfield National Park is eye-opening, with WWII airfield and relics scattered everywhere.

I had such an amazing time, experienced new and exciting things, relaxed and chilled, got energetic and active, saw such natural beauty, ate delicious food for every meal, and generally had a blast. DD, thank so much. You're the best, and cute as a button too!
