Together Brisbane

Have I told you lately, that I love you? Have I told you that there's no-one above you? Have I, Brisbane? I sure hope so!

Brisbane is truly my home, more than anywhere else that I've ever lived, and I know deep in my soul that this is where I will raise a family and grow old and wrinkly. I'm certainly up for exploring and giving other cities a fighting chance, but really, what hope do they have when Brisbane looks like this?

Since the devastating floods in January, Brisbane's tourism dollars have disappeared. WHY?? We're still awesome, some would say even more awesome because those horrid floods brought the Brisbane-lovers out en masse! The new campaign 'Together Brisbane', aims to attract tourists back to Brisbane, and also to give Brisbanites an opportunity to share just what it is that they love about this fair city of ours.

My Together Brisbane message is below. This is a photo that I took of a group of my good friends (and strangers who became friends) who got together with some donated food, beverages and BBQ equipment to take much-needed snags, cold beers, energy and positivity into Rosalie, one of the worst-affected areas of Brisbane. The wonderful locals and volunteers really appreciated the efforts and the delicious Aussie BBQ as they worked hard to restore homes and businesses.

Go to the Together Brisbane website, 'Like' my Help Together poster, upload your own story and image, or just have a look at other Together Brisbane posters. Why wouldn't you?

(Photo credit update! I just realised that yes, I DID take this photo, but it was actually on my sweet friend Felicity's camera. So I nicked Flick's pic! xox)
