The Adventures of KP & BB: An announcement
We're back. We're back from our incredible roadtrip to Port Douglas, with stops and visits in Mackay, Cairns, Cape Tribulation, Cooktown, Kuranda, and Rockhampton. WOW!
I'll post long-winded reports of the awesomeness of our holiday very shortly, but I just wanted to write a quick post on the highlight of my trip.
My wonderful boyfriend of six years, who has weathered the storm that seems to surround me more often than not, proposed to me in a very intimate and romantic way on Four Mile Beach at Port Douglas.
Earlier that day, we'd been admiring a fantastic 50-inch photograph in Michael Seebeck's gallery of exactly that beach by sunset. We strolled from the gallery, past other gorgeous shops back to our resort room, where BB suggested that we change into our bathers and go sunbake on the beach - I didn't need asking twice, tanning is my middle name! As we left the room for the 30 second walk to the water, BB was smiling at me in a very dorky way. I even asked "Why so smiley, babe?"
His response, "Wouldn't you like to know..." didn't even tip me off! (You may remember that even before going to Port Douglas, I was smitten with Four Mile Beach!)
Now, I won't tell you exactly what he said and how he said it, because it's a memory that is just too special to be thrown out there. But I can promise you that when he asked, I did cry happy tears, and I did say YES! He slid a stunning engagement ring on my finger and then there was much kissing and giggles. I'm officially Katy Kiss'n'Giggles.
So, there's my holiday highlight. I'm engaged to the man of my dreams, and I'm truly so lucky to feel this kind of love.
Thank you BB. Thank you for being my very best friend, and a huge support over the years. Most importantly, thank you for being my future.

Congrats! That's truly wonderful news! My hubby proposed on a trip to Vanuatu. We had been together 8 years yet I also didn't see it coming! Can't wait to follow your adventure!
